Last night, we kicked off this year’s ARIA season. Guests wined, dined, and took a break from the heat poolside underneath lit up palm trees at Mr. C Hotel in Beverly Hills. Everyone looked dashing, chatting about the upcoming season and looking forward to the many operatic adventures to come.
Haven’t heard of ARIA? It’s LA Opera’s gem of a club for young professionals, ages 21-35. During an ARIA Night at the Opera, members see a show at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, and then head to an exclusive after-party with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres to cap off a great evening in style. Often times, members get to meet the artists they’ve just watched on stage as they make their way to the post-opera festivities.
ARIA is about more than seeing great opera. It brings together people with an already established passion for the arts and those who might be curious about Downtown LA’s burgeoning arts community. If you haven’t had the chance to experience the scene to full effect (or you’re looking for more Downtown LA arts adventures), check it out.
ARIA parties throughout the season are always (excluding the kickoff) at various trendy venues within Downtown LA.
Can anyone say Ace Hotel?
That’s where ARIA will be on October 31st post a dazzling opening night production of Jake Heggie’s Moby-Dick. Hosted at The Theatre at Ace Hotel, the Black & White themed All Hallows Eve party brings together LA’s hippest modern audiences with Jazz Age glitz and glamour. It’s the perfect opera night on the town.
New this year, we will also host ARIA events, not connected to an operatic performance for those who want a greater immersion into the Downtown LA arts scene.
Want to join the club? Here’s the lay of the land:
- Membership is free.
- 15/16 Operas: Moby-Dick, Norma, The Magic Flute, La Boheme
- ARIA members purchase either an ARIA Subscription Package (includes tickets to the four operas listed above, plus complimentary entrée into the after parties) OR individual tickets to each opera (with an additional $20 fee to attend after parties)
